Chengdu, CN - Lighthouse award in Productivity
The site, which makes programmable logic controllers, HMIs and industrial PCs in a high-mix environment, was set up with knowledge transfer from a sister electronics factory and built on a shared digital platform. It used Industry 4.0 applications — most visibly a digital quality system — to lift defect rates from roughly 10 DPM to under 7 DPM and triple output over four years, while handling around 160 changeovers a day.
Fuerth, DE - Lighthouse award in Sustainability
The site has long operated in a cost- and competitiveness-pressured product mix, so energy efficiency became a lever for product cost. A cross-departmental sustainability team established in 2014 made sustainability a routine consideration in every investment decision. The site was chosen by corporate management to be the company's first net-zero location and targets net-zero scope 1 & 2 by 2026, four years ahead of the corporate goal; throughput rose 145% while absolute energy fell 12%.
Erlangen, DE - Lighthouse award in Productivity
A high-cost-labour site producing mid-volume, high-mix power electronics — inverters, motion-control drives and a new back-end semiconductor line — set out to defend competitiveness through speed to market, labour and equipment productivity, and quality. A modular IT/OT backbone now carries more than 100 production AI algorithms, and the workforce was reskilled through AI-awareness workshops and vocational programmes.
