The site produces large volumes of cutting tools at competitive cost in a high-labour-cost country, while customers increasingly demand customised tools delivered in smaller batches and shorter lead times. Continuous improvement combined with end-to-end digital manufacturing — parametric design, smart automation, data collection and real-time analytics — was used to lift output per person and shrink batch sizes without losing flexibility.
