Awards

Hefei, CN - Lighthouse award in Sustainability

Oct 2024

Stricter consumer and regulatory expectations on the sustainability of washing machines — visible product-level carbon footprint, lower in-use energy, water and detergent consumption — exposed inconsistencies between product design, packaging and manufacturing energy sourcing. The site responded with a sustainability-led digital programme spanning design, energy, water and the wider Midea Group's E2E digital toolkit.

Foshan, CN - Lighthouse award in Supply-Chain and Resilience

Mar 2021

The site is a large dishwasher factory exporting to 145 countries. Faced with rising volumes, sustainability targets and tight cost competition, it pursued a multi-year programme combining digital procurement, flexible automation, AI quality inspection, smart warehousing and a cloud sales platform — cutting manufacturing cost per unit by 24%, lifting revenue by 61% and reducing GHG emissions by 27%.

Chonburi, TH - Lighthouse award in Supply-Chain and Resilience

Sep 2025

The site doubled output from 1.6M to 3.5M units in a year while serving 300+ SKUs across five regions, exposing fragile overseas logistics, scheduling bottlenecks and a thin local talent pool. Leaders had to localise solutions inherited from sister Lighthouses — building a supply-chain control tower, algorithmic planning and scheduling, ML-based container loading, and GenAI training and complaint analytics — rather than transplant them. Local capability-building (R&D team, 11 university partnerships, 87% localisation) was treated as a precondition for the digital work to stick.
