Following entry into premium and OEM/European export segments from 2020, the site moved to a low-volume/high-SKU mix with greener materials (silica-based compounds) that lengthened cycle time and cut effective capacity ~16%. Energy — steam and compressed air — represented ~30% of factory cost. The site deployed 4IR use cases at the mixer (bottleneck), curing presses, the compressed-air network, scrap traceability and finished-goods palletizing to recover throughput, cut energy and hold quality.

Sriperumbudur, IN - Lighthouse award in Productivity

As the company expanded globally, the site needed to unlock manufacturing and dispatch capacity for an additional 50% of demand while doubling speed-to-market for new SKUs, all with stringent quality requirements and an inexperienced workforce. Building on a sister site's Lighthouse toolkit, it deployed 25+ 4IR use cases — including ML-based die design and prescriptive analytics for production planning — to improve new product rollout by 83%, OEE by 29%, halve scrap and cut dispatch turnaround by 40%, doubling SKUs delivered year-on-year.
